natron-plugins's Issues

Transparent Lens Flares

Maybe this could help with compositors to make use of lens flares easier. This makes the lens flares transparent so that it can be directly added to the scene.

How to write GLSL plugin.

Can't find any information regarding custom nodes. Many sources in this repository autogenerated and hard to understand. I want to write GLSL node (screen space curvature) that looks like a native Natron node.

Defocus Not visible icon

Defocus icon is not visible. I checked the .py and realized that was a naming issue. "Defocus.png" should be rename as "zDefocus.png".

vlc_audio looking in the wrong path.

the vlc audio plugin is not working on ubuntu 18.04
the natron version that i have installed is the snap version 2.3.14
as for vlc, i tried to install both the deb and the snap version, neither work.

runing natron from the terminal, i got the following error message when i try to run play any file:

/bin/sh: 1: exec: vlc:

my guess is that the plugin is searching for VLC in the wrong directory, i'm not sure how to solve this for all the distros, but runing the command:
whereis vlc

i got the following result:
vlc: /usr/bin/vlc /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/vlc /usr/share/vlc /snap/bin/vlc /usr/share/man/man1/vlc.1.gz

so the plugin should either:
do aditional checks to verify if vlc is in those directories before atempt to run it.
run the command whereis vlc, grab the result and use it to launch vlc.

AudioVLC plugin no audio played

Hello,
I am a newbie with natron and i use it in ubuntu.
i was trying to add some sound using the AudioVLC plugin but i got no sound.
Opening natron from the terminal and trying it out i got the message
/bin/sh: 1: exec: vlc: not found

i have vlc installed but i dont know if the plugin is looking in the wrong directory maybe or what the problem might be.

Where is the actual code?

Hi. I am maybe asking a stupid question but besides some glsl in the Shadertoy folder I can't see any code for python plugins in the other folders. I will appreciate if someone can explain how it works here. Thanks.

Build installer(s) using travis

We should add a build script for travis that makes installer(s) on tags.

A direct download should also be used on the Natron website, or better yet create a dedicated section on the Natron website. The github project page for the plugins is "scary" to normal users.

CrytoMatte_Mask: Can not render: glGetString(GL_VERSION) failed.

I've been having this error constantly while trying to use the Cryptomatte_Keyer node, unable to continue working on my client's project.

It was working just fine and started giving me this error even though nothing changed in the project itself.

Natron's docs say to set the number of OpenGL Contexts to 5 if a similar error occurs but that doesn't solve the issue.

My system is a Windows 10 machine with an RTX 3060 GPU.

Lens flares gizmos gone

I can't find anymore the gizmo overlay in flares, hence the ability to move them realtime.
Thank you in advance for your time

Add a Puppet Pin like plugin to Natron

Please add a Puppet Pin / skeletal / anchor point / cage transform / distortion like plugin to Natron

In after effects the puppet pin tool allows you to place a series of points on a transparent image or video and then distort it keyframe by keyframe by moving the points / pins around which distorts the image.

https://www.educba.com/puppet-tool-in-after-effects/

I am forced to use after effects for my project because natron doesn't have the necessary plugin yet... i am creating a video for a art project which is a video of a japanese game show where if you get a question wrong, you lose the game sort of like the shows DERO and EXIT, it my video a girl loses and gets dumped into a jacuzzi in a room below by a trap door and the jacuzzi has a Naga (a 100 foot long human snake hybrid constrictor like medusa) in it which then the video then turns into a snake squeeze girl video. it's part of a art project that needs to distort a transparent image of the snakes coils keyframe by keyframe with the puppet pin tool of after effects and i would like to do it in natron, the current IDistort tool in natron is too complex and hard to pull off this kind of image distortion with which is why i am forced to use the puppet pin tool in after effects and i would like a similar tool in natron.

(Bug): ChannelMerge nodes are misplaced after re-opening the project

Make sure to follow our issue report guidelines

  • I'm using the latest version of Natron (not required but recommended)
  • I've restarted Natron and the issue persists
  • I've run Natron via the command line and the issue persists
  • I've followed the contributing guidelines to the best of my understanding
  • My issue is not on the issue tracker or in a pull request already (go search for it and dig around a little bit!)
  • This bug is reproducible

Did you install Natron using the official installer?

  • Yes, I used the official installer
  • No, I installed from a binary archive
  • No, I compiled Natron from sources
  • No, I installed Natron via another method

Custom installation path

No response

What were you trying to do?

Re-open the project and see nodes where they were left last time.

What did you expect to happen? What happened instead?

Expected: nodes aren't moving to seemingly random places.
Reality: They do.

Happens only to the ChannelMerge.

Step-by-step reproduction instructions

  1. Save a project with the node below connected somewhere mid-tree
  2. Re-open the project
  3. Node that the node has moved

Additional details

Node attached.

V_Salte tool

Hi,
I am not a coder but Im writing to propose if someone could make the V_Salte tool
from V!ctor+Tools+2.0v1 by Victor Perez ported to Natron.
Is tool to create advanced slates with lots of information about the playblast.

This would probably be something Natron missed but there is a possibility to incorporate.
The tools are totally open source, and free to use and distribute according to Victor himself, whom I spoke to before writing this post.
I am unfortunately not a coder, so any help would be great.

Thanks,
