Regression using port 0 caused by 1.2.8

It looks like #30 has introduced a regression. In tests I use port 0 to allow the operating system to pick a random open port on the system. It looks like a change here causes port 0 to not pick an open port, but default to 4222. In my case it's causing test failures as things are colliding on that port. Reverting to 1.2.7 avoids the issue.
