EntityFu

A simple, fast entity component system written in C++. Originally built for the game Songbringer and adapted for release.

Only two files need to be included in your game project: EntityFu.h and EntityFu.cpp.

See main.cpp for example code.

Basically:

  • An entity is simply just an integer ID.
  • Components are pure data representing aspects of an entity.
  • Systems are where the code goes to operate on components.

How to judge a component does not exist

template<class ComponentClass> inline static ComponentClass& get(Eid eid)
if the component is null, that return a static 'ComponentClass component'
but how to judge it exist?

Bug in testcode in main.cpp

When I run the main.cpp I get an Assertion:
vector iterator not incrementable

It happens after Entity 2 gets to 0 health and gets destroyed.

I could fix it by changing this:

for (auto eid : Entity::getAll<HealthComponent>())

to this:

auto vec = Entity::getAll<HealthComponent>();
for (auto eid : vec)
