There are some neat optimizations in the picobootSTK500.S file, but I don't see 
how the current rxpacket code would work for a program_page command if the data 
to be programmed contains a CRC_EOP byte (0x20)

Hi!

I figured out that the provided hex file for the 328p in this repo was a bit dated, so I compiled a new one file that supports autobaud.

I'm currently using a genuine UNO with an ATmega8u2 as the USB to serial converter. I'm having problems with the auto-reset routine. I am able to upload if I hit the reset button at the right time, but auto reset does not work at all. Any reason why this might happen?

It also seems like the microcontroller gets stuck in bootloader mode when I open the serial monitor after a successful upload. the D13 LED is constantly lid, and the sketch isn't running.

I have a few questions regarding the PicoBootSerial bootloader, and possibly integrating it with Avrdude, which by the way has migrated over to Github and seems to be reasonably active again.

First, I'll assume that PicoBootSerial is intended to be used on microcontrollers that have no bootloader section like ATtiny13, ATtiny25/45/85, and ATtiny24/44/84, and not on "ATmegas"?

Are other clock frequencies and baud rates supported than 230400 baud @ 8 MHz? The ATtiny13 is the weird one here, with an internal oscillator that runs at 9.6 MHz.

I'd love to give this bootloader a try on some ATtinys. If this turns out to be a reliable bootloader, that "just works", I see no reason why PicoBootSerial couldn't be "officially" added to Avrdude as a supported programmer option.
