I am using DynamicDnsUpdater in combination with the deSEC DynDNS service for sending my external IP address to deSEC.
Today I found that getting my external IP address with DynamicDnsUpdater does not seem to work anymore.

After starting the DynamicDnsUpdater GUI, the following error is reported in the status line at the bottom of the GUI:
Status: Update result: UnknownError

Excerpt from the log file:

When I click "Manually update now your ddns", the log file says:

24-2-2022 15:40:35 - UPDATE Exception, unknown status: Request aborted: Unable to create secure SSL/TLS channel.
24-2-2022 15:40:35 - Manually updating DNS: UnknownError

When I click "Get Current IP", nothing is added to the log file, but the status line at the bottom of the GUI says:
Status: Error while getting current ip

So it seems that for some reason DynamicDnsUpdater cannot resolve my external IP address anymore.
Are there other people that experience the same problem? Any suggestions to resolve this problem?

EDIT: When configuring the ddclient on Linux, URL https://checkipv4.dedyn.io is used to get the external IP address, see here. Maybe it is an idea to add an extra field to DynamicDnsUpdater for entering an URL that returns the external IP address?

Currently .NET Framework 3 is used, it doesn't support TLS1.2.
I will need to update .NET Framework version and enable TLS1.2

I noticed on desec.io that the updated ip is in ipv6 format, and it doesn't seem to work as expected, after turning ipv6 off from the network settings, everything seems to work fine.

I've tried using the domain as the username and the actual username but the result is the same.

I try to update my DynDNS-Account at dedyn.io with DynamicDnsUpdater. I tried starting with standard user and admin privileges and as a startup task.
Here my questions and remarks:
It seems, that the log setting (for example App directory) in the GUI isn't saved? Or what do wrong?
The button View Log gives the error mesage that there is no log file. But the log file is written when starting an terminating the GUI.
The DynDNS-Updates should be logged?
A workaround for me: what are the logging keywords and values in the dduSettings.txt file?

I like the program but it would be even better if you could make it update automatically, not based on time, but based on the change of the local IP. You have everything at hand in the actual version:

based on time, you check the local ip ( this can be at a high rate ( every minute ) and when th IP changes, you execute the dns update.
