Clock Bar

Get clock right on the sweetest spot of the macbook, on the touch bar.

Why

The upper right corner seems the farthest place on the planet to look at. Full of menu items, but an area you really find it incovenient. Touch bar has been so convenient for so many things that you want to have everything right there. Having the clock right on the touch bar save you from visiting the darkest corner and saves so much effort. Seriously!!! You will realise.

Options

• use long tap on the Touch Bar icon to open Preferences
• find the Open at Login option in Preferences
• tap on the touch bar to toggle between HH:mm and hh:mm format
• choose from different colors

Time format

I love that there's the option for two time formats! However, in 12-hour format, at 9am I think the time should really be displayed as 9:00 instead of 09:00 (no leading zero). This display is misleading as I only see 24-time displayed this way.

The clock disappears when music is playing

When listening to music, in this case Spotify, ClockBar gets replaced by the music icon

If i kill Spotify the clock reappears

I'm on a 13" M2 MacBook Pro

[Enhancement] Move button

It's shown in a picture that the clock can be moved from the far left side, where's stuck right now, to the right side or possibly in the middle.

This should be added so that it isn't stuck on the far left side.

No option for 12hr time

Clock bar app only shows 24h time with no option for 12h time

Example, 3:21pm shows up in the clock bar app as 03:21
After changing Mac clock settings to use 24h time then the displayed time is correct, 15:21

It is Blocked Out When I Open Media

Step to reproduce

• Start the Clock Bar, it is should be available at the most right of the small touch bar.
• Play a media (e.g. Spotify) that will trigger the media icon on the touch bar to be appeared at the most right.

Expected Behaviour
Both clock and media icon appearing side to side

Actual Behaviour
Media icon is appearing buth clock bar is not appearing

[Enhancement] More colour options

This is app idea is great! I've been using since I got my TouchBar MacBook Pro, and don't see using my Mac otherwise.

However, since the beginning I felt the need for more colour choice. In the end, I made my own repo with retro colours, which I love. (This was my first ever open-source GitHub thing I've ever done, so apologies if I've stepped over any unwritten rules)

However, I still think that having a colour wheel, or (if possible) integrating Apple's colour choice thingy (with crayons, the colour wheel and the slides) would be a truly amazing addition.

Option to show date

It would be great to add the ability to show the date. Let me know if PR's are welcome, I could try and figure it out.

Change font color when there is calendar event in progress

It would be very useful to see an specific font color or an alert icon when there is a calendar event in process

help a newbie out, how do I launch this?

I've run the brew cask install clock-bar command ... but... now what?

[Enhancement] Option to show battery percentage

It would be cool if pressing the button switched to show battery percentage rather than time format
or possibly show both if it fits

On select, open a submenu

On select, a second menu could open. This would be analogue to where the volume button opens the volume slider submenu.

This submenu could contain related information such as:

• Times from other time zones
• The date
• Upcoming Siri reminders
• Next calendar event

[feature] Show charging state

It would be useful to see if the mac is charging or not, for example by changing the font color…

My new repo

I don't know why the origin developer @nihalsharma has not been active on GitHub for over 10 months, so I created a new repo of this app.
Fixed the issue #3 #4 #6 #7 #8 #10

I should fork this repo instead of creating new one , but there is some reason why I did no :

1. The author has not been active for over 10 month. There is no maintainer now.
2. I want to add this to 'homebrew-cask' which require the ownership of the app.

If the origin developer @nihalsharma returns and is not OK with my creating new repo, I will delete immediately.

Move it to the extended touchbar

It only works in the strip, but I would like to move it to the extended strip (when I hold the fn key.
It's specially useful when I'm working in a fullscreen app and just want to quickly check the time.

[Enhancement] Add option to show second counter as well as AM/PM.

It would be fantastic to get the option to adjust the format similar to the options in the menu bar clock: HH:MM:SS AM/PM. Thanks for a great app!

Clock Bar fails to launch correctly on Mac OS Catalina 10.15.4

Steps taken:

• Installed via brew, brew cask install clock-bar (brew info clock-bar shows version as clock-bar: 1.0,1801968)
• Launched Clock Bar app
• App screen shows for a second and disappears
• Searching for clock bar in[ Console|https://support.apple.com/guide/console/welcome/mac] shows the following message:

default	15:50:41.909051+0900	Clock Bar	LSExceptions shared instance invalidated for timeout.

Button padding

Please use the same padding inside the touch bar button (left and right side) for more consistency with default buttons.

Conflict with TouchBar App Switcher

Hi,

Had TB App switcher already installed. Installing this caused it to stop and not show up on TouchBar. Relaunching TB App switcher makes the clock stop.

My new repo - a new Swift version

Hello everyone!
I have created my own repo of ClockBar!
This is a new Swift version, it could have a better performance.
I am a medical student and it was not easy for me to finish such a thing, but finally I did it !
I will maintain the ClockBar under my repo, so please have a look and give me advice! You are welcomed to request PR and add new features to the ClockBar!

[Enhancement] Save time format

I like to use this app in the 24h time format, but every time I restart Clock Bar, it goes back to the default 12h time format.
I think it would be nice if the app remembers the time format from last session.
