ets2-map's Issues

v. 1.30

Hi! don't you plan to update your code for 1.30?

Update for current version

Since this project seems to be more ore less dead, I started to fix parts of it for my own use.
Maybe someone is willing to help me with some little bits, which I cant figure out myself.
For example I am pretty sure I corrected the interpreter for ppb files to the new format. At least loading those files works now. The curves entry seems to be by 4 bytes longer.
However there are more problems. For example, there are no cities found in the sectors. I guess, that the .base files have also changed, so the type is not read correctly. From the way they are read in the code I would guess that there was some kind of file structure assumed. Can that be found anywhere? Or are there any tips on how to find those values that are needed in the .base files? Maybe from there I can adapt it to the newer versions.
I would love it, if I could fix this project, obviously I would make the new version accesible.

gas_station.ppd Roads Not Appearing in Output

I noticed that one of the gas station prefabs, gas_station.ppd in particular, is not displaying on the rendered map. It looks like since there are no AI curves/paths through the prefab, the current logic does not recognize any curves, and does not display the prefab on the screen (I'm still slowly trying to parse through all of the logic ๐Ÿ˜† to figure out how all of this works). It looks like the prefab has has two nodes, both with X, Y, and Z positions; however I'm not sure how they tie in with the rest of the road. Are there other possible properties that can be used to build a suitable roadway for this prefab?

It also looks like company roadways / lots are also not appearing, which I am assuming is due to the same thing (no AI curves stored in the prefab).

Here's a screenshot of what I tried to explain above ๐Ÿ˜„

Where to Find City IDs / Road Prefabs?

I just tried running the map builder, and I noticed that I am receiving several "Unknown city" messages when the map is being built (below is an example)

Unknown city ID 000000007349A3A8 at 002935DEDD701011

Is there anywhere in the base.scs file that holds each city ID to city name? I'd be happy to update the CSV, once I can figure out where the IDs are stored ๐Ÿ˜†

It also looks like I am missing the folder location for road prefabs (the logs indicate that 0 road prefabs were found, but it found a total of 4109 other prefabs). Is there another prefab directory for roads I may have missed (besides base/prefab/)?

How to Generate LUTs?

Since the repo was last updated a year ago, the LUTs for ETS2 are out of date as they don't include Scandinavia and Vive le France ! as far as I can tell. How can I generate new LUTs for the map DLCs, as well as for ATS?
