Hi, I don't know how to add image. But you can look at the handwriting of Rabindranath Tagore here https://goo.gl/images/oFEXzi
He uses knots. Also you can check other handwritings and manuscripts of Assamese and Bengali. Knots are important, please don't promote the wrong way of writing. As a teacher of the script I have to tell learners that the font isn't correct, you should write like that. Please take a look at this issue.

Atleast add knots in ম and শ (like in Noto Serif Bengali) . ম looks like স but ম is very different in the script. It should create a knot like ૪. It's like writing 6 like C.

Even Noto Sans Modi is full of knots. So it's not like there's any limit. The Bengali-Assamese script is very important. But because of the current font, learners are learning this script wrongly.
This script isn't like Latin script where normal cursive style is too different from normal non cursive one. The style which is used by Noto Sans Bengali probably only started since like 2013.

Here you can see how some letters are written:

Are knots/blobs vs knotless/blobless styles regional? For example, an image captured from Bangladesh television clearly uses knotless/blobless style... Is knotless/blobless style only used in Bangladesh? I'm trying to learn :-)

We will have two styles for Bengali: Sans and Serif. The next generation of Serif Bengali will have knots/blobs.
