This documentation contains information from the Ubuntu touch project, which was actively developed by Canonical from 2012 to 2017.

They are be published on docs.ubuntu.com.

About Ubuntu Touch and these docs

Ubuntu Touch was an version of Ubuntu, built to run on phones and tablets with a set of SDKs to create apps and scopes.

These pages were pulled and integrated from two main sources:

  1. developer.ubuntu.com phone section for guides, tutorials and a snapshot of the the current and stable API docs at the time Canonical announced it would stop working on them.
  2. design.ubuntu.com provided its app and scope sections with information on how to design native and html5 apps and scopes for the OS.

Bugs and changes

Please feel free to submit bugs, or even better, pull requests if you see errors or ammends.

If you want to do larger edits, or build the docs yourself, then refer to documentation-builder for more information. But basically.

  1. clone this repo
  2. install the documentation builder snap install documentation-builder or build it yourself
  3. run the documentation-builder in the repo
  4. open the build/en/index.html file
