update_cache: true option can be used in installation step. No need to add define it as whole step.

Correct me if i'm wrong but as far as I remember ansible variables shared across all other roles. So if you just write admin_pw its very likely to create collision with other role's variable. That is, its better to change variable names to sth more specific or used them as property to an object in yml.

Restarting, starting or stopping mongodb can be worked best if it's done by handlers.

People may installed mongodb already and their only desire could be the create replica set configuration and/or default authentication.

Create a default variable called sth like install_mongodb: true and link installation procedure with this variable
