It can. Namespaces would need to be cached from the API server to GK to do this.
We should put some thought into how we surface that requirement and how much user-effort it takes to satisfy it. Should we require a sync entry in Config? Should we start thinking about smarter syncing behavior?

I think this is to add namespaceSelector to the MatchSchema we currently support:
