• It is currently unclear how to access or install the notebooks. Do participants download them from the repository? In person we can tell and show this but it needs to be added to share the course afterwards
• Show how to move between directories in prompt - cd directory
• Show how to open the jupyter notebook application in anaconda prompt by typing: '''sh jupyter notebook'''

These suggestions can best be addressed after testing the environment.yml file.

After running the model, there appears to be no difference between the initial and final plot in the first plot of the DIFD 3.1 Notebook. Is it correct that they fully overlap and there is no deviation between the initial and final profile?

The following error occurs:
line 51, in initialize
s['fence_height'][:,:] = p['fence_file']
KeyError: 'fence_height'

In textfile change ../data/bathy/z_20110803.txt to ../data/grids/z_20110803.grd
This occurs as well for the x, y and threshold file

• Change bathy to grids in all directories
• Change file extension from .txt to .grd

Add plot functions to visualize morphological evolution, moisture content, and compare simulations.

Provide a conda environment file (environment.yml) listing all the dependencies for the short course, for example, aeoils, jupyter notebook, etc. This would allow the users to create a conda environment with all the dependencies installed in one step using this environment file.

Add model with vegetation layer. Compare to observed dune evolution?
