This site "has been repeatedly criticised by numerous academics who believe that it promotes an Islamophobic worldview and conspiracy theories."
I'd propose Pew Research Center being added as a credible source.
Palmer Report is a generally an unreliable news source according to the following sources:

CNN.com is generally regarded as a reliable news source.

Using the .csv file for line numbers, these are inconsistent to the majority of the list:
channel-7-news.com/
should be channel-7-news.com
educateinspirechange.org/health
should be educateinspirechange.org
thegoldandoilguy.com/articles
should be thegoldandoilguy.com
In reference to #15, the preferred process for contributing to the data is not clear.
Since this repo is on GitHub, it feels natural to submit issues and PRs, but if the website is the desired entrypoint for data submissions, it would be helpful to clarify this.
Some suggestions:
Hi all,
the website is down! What happened?
Thanks
Martino
AP is generally regarded as a credible source.
hi, i wanted to contest http://fusion.net/ being included in your list. Specifically for reasons of "satire", which is what it appears to be listed as. I have double-checked their news page and it currently has all news stories that I have seen elsewhere, as well as links to their sources. This is not a satire site, though they may ocassionally have satire posts in their non-news sections.
aljazeera.com is generally regarded as a credible news source.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Jazeera#Awards_and_accolades
The credible and notCredible lists have different formats, which makes parsing harder. I would propose merging the lists into one (the type tag could be 'reliable' for what's in the credible list) and or at least use the same format for both lists.
Strong bias.
Foxnews.com is generally regarded as unreliable, biased. They often fail to distinguish between analysis and news reporting, and frequently traffic in rumor, innuendo and speculation.
I ran a list of test cases through bs-detector, and the results were disappointing.
It correctly identified these sites:
http://naturalnews.com/ JUNK SCIENCE
http://endingthefed.com/ EXTREME BIAS
http://realnewsrightnow.com/ FAKE NEWS
https://conservativedailypost.com/ FAKE NEWS
http://nationalreport.net/ FAKE NEWS
http://prntly.com/ FAKE NEWS
http://yournewswire.com/ CLICKBAIT
http://www.thenewsnerd.com/ SATIRE
http://beforeitsnews.com/ FAKE NEWS
http://www.prisonplanet.com/ CONSPIRACY THEORY
http://www.infowars.com/ CONSPIRACY THEORY
http://www.theonion.com/ SATIRE
https://www.rt.com/ STATE NEWS SOURCE
It missed some others:
http://krbcnews.com/ -- not flagged. (this leftist fake news site is impersonating the real KRBC-TV!)
http://therightists.com/ -- not flagged.
http://drrichswier.com/ -- not flagged.
http://usamagazinestudio.com/ -- not flagged.
http://reagancoalition.com/ -- not flagged.
http://principia-scientific.org/ -- not flagged.
https://moneymorning.com/ -- not flagged.
But the list also shows strong leftist bias. It wrongly flagged five excellent, trustworthy conservative sites, four of them for supposed "extreme bias":
http://www.drudgereport.com/ EXTREME BIAS
https://ijr.com/ EXTREME BIAS
http://lifenews.com/ EXTREME BIAS
http://www.dailywire.com/ EXTREME BIAS
http://www.theblaze.com/ CLICKBAIT
But NONE of the far-left sites I checked were flagged. For instance, although the highly respected anti-abortion site LifeNews.com was flagged, I checked about two dozen pro-abortion sites, and none of them were flagged.
A lot of sites are marginal/dubious. Left-wing dubious/marginal sites are never flagged, but dubious/marginal right-wing sites are often flagged:
** These six dubious left-wing sources were not flagged:
https://mediamatters.org/ -- not flagged.
https://www.splcenter.org/ -- not flagged.
http://www.rightwingwatch.org/ -- not flagged.
http://www.hotwhopper.com/ -- not flagged.
https://www.buzzfeed.com/ -- not flagged.
http://www.dailykos.com/ -- not flagged.
** Three of these five dubious right-wing sources were flagged:
http://www.breitbart.com/ CLICKBAIT
http://www.wnd.com/ EXTREME BIAS
http://www.redstate.com/ CLICKBAIT
https://www.newsmax.com/ -- is very similar to WND, yet not flagged.
https://www.thenewamerican.com/ (the Bircher site) -- is the least reliable of the five, yet it wasn't flagged.
First off, very interesting project. I'm working on a new type of news aggregator (newsvoice.com), perhaps we should talk!
Found som inconsistencies and errors in the database:
Type: "credible" Domain: consortiumnews.com
Type: "" Domain: bigpzone.com
Type: "rumors" Domain: wikileaks.com
Type: "credible" Domain: nutritionfacts.org
Type: "rumors" Domain: wikileaks.org
Type: "parody" Domain: dailyleak.org
Type: "malware warning" Domain: livefreelivenatural.com
Type: "bais" Domain: regated.com
Type: "conpiracy" Domain: BB4SP.com
For many applications having a 'bias' field associated with each news site would be useful. E.g. left/right wing, but perhaps also something like east/west.
Why is this? Wikileaks is one of very few sites with a 100% accurate record for all of their released material.
Howdy.
Look what I found
"BB4SP.com" : {
"type" : "conpiracy",
},
Perhaps would be good to have a script sanitizing the json/CSV files: sorting lines, finding typos. If the files are sorted, then merge conflicts will be less.
Cheers.
See here:
https://sites.google.com/site/daxrnorman2/analysis
The structure used there should easily transfer to OpenSources, both the website and the script, especially since it already has MANY similarities to the one currently already used by OpenSources.
This would provide both a numeric trust score and based on that, a High/Moderate/Low/Not Credible trust scale.
Note that the criteria and weight values originate from survey input from 66 professional intelligence analysts!
Extreme bias: Mostly stories targeted against muslims and people with other skin color than white. Often contains unsubstatiated insinuations. "Den korte avis" (The short newspaper) does not follow verdicts from the danish press council, and is therefore not regarded as a newspaper.
First off, it's fantastic to see a new fact checking initiative being born out of the BS Detector extension! Having a new push in this front will make journalism and online content better than ever before.
With this being such a new idea, it needs a lot of refinement. One such piece is where the main repository is. This is where I believe that OpenSources should, at the very least, start out as its own organization on GitHub. Under this layout, OpenSources could have multiple repos dedicated to each of its core functions, thus allowing for easier collaboration and development.
Specifically referencing tomwoods.com
This site doesn't appear to even make an attempt at any kind of factual news reporting. It's pure political opinion, primarily revolving around a podcast.
Definitely not a news site, or one that would need AP-style. If this is included, it seems you'll really need to broaden this list to include every political podcaster with a clearly-stated political viewpoint.
I see that the submission form on the main website has tags for various types of unreliable sources. But what's the protocol for submitting reliable sources?
