opensprints2

OpenSprints goldsprints software, rewritten in Node.js.

To Use

Initial setup

To clone and run this repository you'll need Git and Node.js (which includes npm) installed on your computer. From your command line:

# Clone this repository
git clone https://github.com/lukeorland/opensprints2
# Go into the repository
cd opensprints2
# Install dependencies and run the app
npm install

Make sure the Arduino has been flashed with the firmata sketch.

Running

Make sure the Arduino is connected. Then run:

node hub-cli.js

When the magnet is passed by the sensor, update messages should be printed to the terminal.

  • create a roller device that controls red and green LEDs and has a ticks counter
  • connect hall effect sensor to roller device
  • create a raceMonitor state machine that:
    • handles "start-counting" transition
      • turns red LEDs green
      • resets ticks counter to 0
    • handles "stop-counting" transition
      • ignore magnet
      • turns green LEDs red
  • hook up all 4 rollers to the raceMonitor
  • npm package
  • publish to npm

rename this repo

to something like opensprints.hub or opensprints-hub or something.
