Upstream they have to fixed the issue for MySQL 5.6.34, but not for MySQL 5.7.17. That's why openSUSE can compile 5.6.34.

From three tested distributions (Manjaro 16.10; Oracle Linux 7; openSUSE Tumbleweed) only openSUSE Tumbleweed is affected. All three distributions use GCC 6.2. I recommend opening this bug again, because the problem may be openSUSE specific.

As discussed in upstream bugzilla and on https://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/2016-12/msg00277.html it is unlikely issue of mysql/mariadb packaging of openSUSE.

MySQL failed to compile on some platforms with -DWITH_LIBWRAP=ON.
CMake support now checks whether tcpd.h has proper function
prototypes.

Probably the CMake script will now refuse LIBWRAP support on openSUSE. I will check this, when MySQL 5.7.18 is released.
