Right now calls between services are direct

When we add the gRPC transport, the API will change slightly because every service will work with a client object towards other services (instead of calling them directly)

We can switch to this interface today. We'll still do direct calls without gRPC but we can already start using the same interface

Need to decide

Currently service.start() takes a buffered channel that the service writes to when stopped, so the caller for start can wait until the service stops

This isn't very elegant, especially because the buffered channel has a constant hardcoded buffer size

Need to find a nicer way to implement this
