Hi, thanks for making this plugin. I just wanted to let you know that anything involving latest is actually using version 5.003_13 for perl.

It looks like PR #3 will probably fix this, but wanted to be sure you were aware of the issue.

Would be really nice to have different commands for dev/non dev, not environment variable.

Would be nice to have the option to generate man pages via the --man flag to perl-install.
This can be done by setting an env variable like ASDF_PERL_GENERATE_MAN to any non-zero value.

It is expected that plugin will pass through options to the perl_install, not override them silently.
It is not possible to pass -j option.

If I invoke asdf list all perl command on osx I get following

No compatible versions available (perl )

Inside bin/list-all I see the following line

$(perl_install_bin) --list-all | tac | tr '\n' ' '

According to this answer tac can
be replaced by tail -r command.

Can you please adjust it.

I'm not sure how it works, but more or less it does for asdf ruby, rbenv and plenv.
But with asdf perl i need to run reshim manually.

➜ asdf install perl latest
perl-install -j=16 -Dusethreads -Dusedevel --symlink-devel-executables 5.35.10 /home/arthur/.asdf/installs/perl/5.35.10

I'm not familiar with Perl environment. Google's yielding poor results. Any chance you could point me in the right direction?

The which command is an external binary that is not built in to bash; for portability, bash scripts should use the type builtin instead. The perl plugin failed (with a relatively silent "No compatible versions" message) on a fresh ArchLinux install because of this dependency.

Implement a latest-stable script so that asdf can pick the correct version of perl when latest is given as a version argument.
