I want you guys to be aware that all of the changes you seem to be making to the build process have already been done here: https://github.com/xtuple/xtuple-server

The xTuple Server provides a repeatable, managed solution for deploying and hosting multiple xtuple instances, uses the latest postgres and node versions, sets up nginx, system access policy, etc. We use it to host our dozens/hundreds of cloud customers, and the xTuple Server allows us to spin up new instances with one command. The commercial edition also includes automated postgres snapshots and a web management interface; I might be able to provide a demo of this for you if you're interested.

We recognized three months ago that our deployment process was onerous and fragile, and invested heavily in improving it. All of our products are going to soon use this new and improved process, and I don't want you guys to diverge too far and not be able to take advantage of all the changes we are making to our core.
