We have Scarecrow running on our Discord server, though there's no Twitter feeds coming from any of the feeds Scarecrow was following. When we try to have Scarecrow follow another Twitter feed, it reports the following:

Scarecrow: follow command is disabled

This lack of Twitter feeds has been going on since Tuesday as a time reference.

If you change the nickname of the bot, the bot doesn't listen to it's prefixes anymore.

You have to kick the bot and reinvite it to your server.

Did you take the bot offline? It shows up as offline, and hasn't worked in almost a month. Will you put bot back up, or will I have to host locally now? Thanks.

Would it be a pain to add a link-only (surrounded by < > to not expand the link) version of the message after the embed version, so that people who don't like embeds can still get a link to the tweet? And, if that would not be a pain, would you do that please?

I've been trying to get this bot setup locally to run on our server. There's no instructions and I don't program in python.

So far, I've worked out I need to install:

python3.6
python3.6-dev
python3.6-gdmb
pip
virtualenv

as well as create a logs directory.

Now, the bot is complaining about config files. I can tell theres meant to be a conf directory, but I've no idea how to get the configuration files to generate. Looking through the code, there isn't really anything implemented?

A single standard connection to the Twitter API can only filter a maximum of 5000 different user IDs.

The bot has now reached that maximum and to avoid the stream connection being refused, trying to follow a brand new Twitter channel is now disabled.

Possible solutions to this are:

• Investigate if multiple connections are possible/allowed to connect multiple streams
• Extract the twitter module from Scarecrow and create a public self hostable twitter bot
• Cry
