I know this repo is over 8 years old, but in my current project I need to set up a SMTP validator and your code looks fine.

My question is, can I still use it and if not, do you have other suggestions I could use or take a look at?

I set up a test env and tested the code, but whatever mail I run with it, I get false. do you know why?
