fairy-lights's Issues

Fairy Lights Seem To Be Replaced By Identical Lights

When interacting with an ItemStack of fairy lights identical to the ones being looked at in-world, the mod still attempts to "replace" them, and plays the replacement sound. This occurs in both survival and creative mode. A recording of the issue has been uploaded here, where the sound is played each time the fairy lights are right-clicked.

Mod version: 2.1.2-1.12.x
Forge version: 1.12.2-14.23.4.2744

Feature request: disassemble hanging lights

I made my lights into the wrong type of string. I would love it if I could get the lights themselves back, though it doesn't matter if some of the other components get destroyed.

Dark spot despite having fairy lights

I'm not sure what's going on here, there's a random dark spot where I put fairy lights. It was not dark last I checked.

fairylights-2.1.0-1.11.2.jar

After taking the screenshot and writing this, I looked back and it was lit up...

image

Is this a feature, like are the lights supposed to randomly "burn out" or something?

Fairy Lights Do Not Give Off Light?

Would you consider allowing Fairy Lights to emit light? I would love to replace my torches scattered all over my base with your awesome fairy lights!

Thanks!

Breaking 1 Light Connector Breaks all Lights Directly Next To It

Hello!

When building many fairly lights, and the connectors are placed directly next to each other, breaking 1 connector will break all touching connectors. This would be a tough thing to have happen after building a large set of lights :P

Thank you!

[SF3] Can't attach lights?

Not sure if this is only on my Sky Factory 3.0.6 server or not. For some odd reason when I right click with a light in my hand nothing happens. I've tried repeatedly right clicking various points, shift right clicking, removing armor, trying a couple types, nothing. Tried changing what I'm trying to attach it to (basic cobble!) but still nothing.

White Color is Blue

No matter what I do, it seems that for me, all the white lights omit a blue light color. I'm unsure if this is a glitch or if there is something else that is effecting the color of the lights, but I can't seem to find a work around.

Hwyla Cannot Determine Information About Fairy Lights

Both the ray tracing for the fairy light bulbs and the wire result in an "unknown" entity being reported, and information is not shown at all for the fastener block.

To resolve the block not reporting an item, IWailaDataProvider#getWailaStack could be utilized to pass an ItemStack of generic fairy lights, and provide information about currently fastened lights in IWailaDataProvider#getWailaBody

Similarly, IWailaEntityProvider could be utilized to pass custom entity information for the fairy lights entity being raytraced, however I'm sure there is likely a solution without needing the API for you to provide a localized name for your entity that Hwyla can infer.

Crash

Hello, (sorry for my bad english i'm french)

Yes, i know that 1.7.10 version is no more supported, but PLEASE just release a new version JUST for the issue with Optifine E3, i realy need this mod, and the last version of optifine include shaders(and more optimisation), so that i don't need a shader mod. You would be really nice to do that, just that, please.
(The crash report is already on an other post "1.7.10 crash")

Cannot remove step-ladder

Fairy lights is in the skyfactory 3 mod pack. I created a stepladder, and placed it down in the middle of my base, and nothing I do will remove it. I've tried weapons, picks, axes, clicking with empty hands, shift clicking, etc.

How does one remove or pick up a placed stepladder?

Issue between Fairy Lights and Sponge

So, this may seem like an odd one to report, not sure if it's one you're aware of also, but there is an issue over at sponge: SpongePowered/SpongeForge#2355 regarding cross-dimension teleporting.

I was having this issue and Fairy Lights is mentioned in the Phase tracker error, so I tried deleting it to see if that would help, which it did, all is working fine. Which brings me to reporting it here, maybe there is something that can be fixed here to help with the issue?

Cant get it to work

Hi, I need your help with this, I cant get this mod to work with my other mods, thanks for the time to help.

Can't place anything but Tinsel Garlands/Letter Bunting/Vine Garland.

Minecraft version: 1.10.2
Forge version: forge-12.18.3.2185
Fairylights version: fairlights-2.0.0-1.10.2

I've been playing around with the mod, and I am unable to place any of the lanterns. I've tried many different lantern types, as well as colors, and I am unable to place any of the lantern blocks themselves.

I am able to place the different garland blocks, but that is it.

Any ideas, or information I can provide? Would really love to get this mod working!

May cause lag

Hello,
Event subscribers of your mod can make server lag, it use a great amount of ressources
Here you can see:
screenshot

I realy want to use this mod but I can not use it on my server for that reason ...
Please take a look !

Show Hanging Light Item in JEI

It would be useful to show one Hanging Light Item in the JEI item list and cycle through all recipe variants in the recipe view.

Transparency punch-through

In the two screenshots, one has transparency punch-through and the other doesn't. Whether this happens or not depends on the angle you view the lights at.

(This might be an issue with just Colassal Chests.)

Various lights won't place in the world

Both the red hanging lights and the red paper lanterns (and probably quite a few more, I didn't check them all) will not place in the world. I believe various lights in the mod are not placing on the side of blocks for unknown reasons.

Unable to place garland finish point

I can attach and detach the begin point of a garland but can't do the same for the end point. Right-click seems ignored, leaving me standing there holding onto the end of the garland.

World for HitConnection entity is null (not allowed by Forge)

Hello!

My mod, Apathetic Mobs, is currently crashing in conjunction with your mod. This is because my mod checks all entities during AttachCapabilitiesEvent and has to check if the entity is on the server. This means I must check !e.getObject().getEntityWorld().isRemote. When your entity, HitConnection, runs through my function, I assume getEntityWorld() is not null, because the documentation for getEntityWorld() says that it should never return null.

In order to fix this, Forge says that you should use the overworld if your entity is not in any world. Meanwhile, I can fix this on my end by checking instanceof EntityLiving before the world check (which I should have been doing all along, lol). But this could cause other problems in the future! So please fix it as soon as you can.

Thank you!

Ability to change cable color?

I'd like to be able to change the Hanging Lights cable and anchor color in order to better match whatever I'm hanging it against. Maybe click a dye on the cable or anchor to change its color?

Crash

Hello, yes the 1.7.10 version isn't updated, but i asked to the creator of Optifine, and he founded the problem but said that you can change that: Here is the issue: sp614x/optifine#1121

So PLEASE just fix this problem, just this PLEASE!

[Suggestion]

Hey I have a little suggestion, differents materials for the string hanging the lights.
Not specially different colour, that would be ugly, (or white) but I mean a rope texture (brown) for boats for example .

Crash with Valkyrien Warfare

I'm using Fairy Lights 2.1.6 and I've tried both Valkyrien Warfare 0.9.5 and their latest beta build. Whenever I try placing any kind of light on an existing ship or create a ship with a fairy light, the game completely freezes and crashes.

Crash report: https://pastebin.com/j2VZ9jwh

I don't know if it's on VW's side, but I do know that the mod handles ships in an unusual way: it stores them at the very edge of the map afaik.

Anyway I love both of these mods and hope the issue can be fixed soon. Thanks!

[Feature Request] Realistic flame and incandescent colours

Ok, really loving this mod and the effort you put into the models.

My one wish is to have a 'real' colour for each of the lanterns etc. So like for bulbs an incadescent bulb colour (sort of an off yellow/white) and for lanterns a flame colour (orange-yellow) that looks a little more realistic than the primary colours the mod sports now. The texture should have a little more intensity (similar to project reds lights, but not quite so bright).

Crafting recipes are not part of the normal JEI Crafting category

You can make your custom recipes work as part of the vanilla Crafting recipe category.

Just have your wrapper implement ICraftingRecipeWrapper and use VanillaRecipeCategoryUid.CRAFTING.
Then you should be able to remove GenericRecipeCategory and GenericRecipeCategory.UID.

Crash Report

I'm not 100% sure if this has to do with Fairy Lights, but the crash report only mentions it? However, I'm not really great at reading crash reports so.

I have a couple skull fairy lights hanging up in the Sky Factory 3 modpack (3.0.6, MC ver 1.10.2). I recently put in a couple of pedestals for Draconic Evolutions dislocators. I teleported in the same dimension about 100-200 blocks away 3 times and back home (where the lights are hanging) with no problems. Upon teleporting back home the 4th time, I crashed and received this crash report. (crash-2017-02-17_02.13.56-client.txt)

Like I said, the crash report mentioned Fairy Lights, so I'm posting it here for your perusal.

Let me know if it's another mod causing the problems so I can post the report for them.

Edit: Not a one time thing, it happened again after a few okay teleports.

Some Recipes Do Not Use OreDictionary

Hello!

I'm working on a modpack and noticed the Jack-O-Lantern light recipes do not use Ore-Dictionaried wooden slabs. Is this intended? If not, could it be possible to ore dictionary them?

FairyLights: 2.0.5
MC: 1.10.2
Forge: 2209

I love the mod so far! It looks really cool, and thank you for making those server fixes/updates!

Use TileEntitySpecialRenderer instead of RenderWorldLastEvent

I don't really understand why you're using RenderWorldLastEvent, and ASMing into the EntityRenderer class to make the frustum a field, just so you can cull stuff yourself. It looks like what you're doing could be just as easily done using a TESR, and avoid the ASM entirely since Forge culls TESRs for you, therefore making your mod more compatible with other mods. If you have a valid reason for the way you're currently doing it, please tell me.

Strange transparency/whitescreen issue when looking at lights

https://gfycat.com/IdioticEcstaticGrayreefshark

As you can see, looking at a fairy light causes weird visual errors depending on how you look at it. Lights looked at from an equal height or below will cause transparent blocks to turn white, while looking at them from above causes the whole screen to go white. Lights obscured by transparent blocks or entities do not cause this issue.
This may be an issue with Optifine, but it would be hard for me to test this as I can't run the game without Optifine installed. I've tried several settings but none of them seem to change this problem.

Update zh_CN

Some tooltips which need Chinese localization have been added which appear on some items in JEI recipes. @TartaricAcid, I would be grateful if you could do these updates.

Request: Ability to attach lights to garlands.

I would love it if you could attach lights to garlands, as I have this awesome vine garland with icicle lights idea in my head that would look awesome for christmas, unfortunately, because the vine garland doesnt have the same curve as light strings, you cant simply attach both to the same fasteners and have it look good at all times.
