A versioned cache backed by cloud storage.

Install

$ npm install --save wabac

Usage

Follow the Google Cloud Storage quickstart. In particular, you must set up authentication with a service account and set the GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS access variable.

Development

Designate a name for your test bucket. Be careful! The tests will destroy this bucket.

Create a .env:

GOOGLE_APPLICATION_CREDENTIALS=...
TEST_LOCATION=us-east1
TEST_PROJECT_ID=your-project-here
TEST_BUCKET_NAME=careful-because-what-you-specify-will-get-wiped-out-by-the-tests

Use Case, Performance

Hey Paul, great to see another project from you.

I'm curious what data caching problem you built this for (e.g. what type of data, when/how it changes) and what an ideal usage pattern would look like.

I don't know how performant GCP's cloud storage is, so I'm curious to hear about what type of usage patterns work best.
