vse-risk-tool's Issues

Data dictionaries should include source and unit of analysis

Trying to make sense of the information in the data/output folders. The data dictionaries are very helpful but it would be ideal if they included 2 additional points of information:

  1. the original source (eg., LFS - including time period; industry GDP; I/O tables; O*NET; VSE calculations, etc)
  2. the unit of analysis - there's a mix of data at the NAICS2-only level (e.g., employment change by month) in the NOC4 x NAICS3 table, which is not obvious at first.

Also the data dictionary for the NOC4 x NAICS3 table says employment change is from Feb to March, but it's actually February to April (which is great!)

Legend for Risk Score

Could we add the following to the risk tool somewhere?

75-100: very high
65-75: high
55-65: medium-high
45-55: medium
35-45: medium-low
25-35: low
0-25: very low

Job description tab changes

Job descrip tab

  • Remove decimal points on both Risk Index scores
  • Indicate O*Net score scale 1 (low) to 5 (high)

QC data

Even though we aren't displaying QC in the Risk Tool dashboard, we should still have the QC csv data in the data/output folder, so it is easy for anyone to access!

Footnote changes

Main tab

  • Remove footnote, "Workers" Number of workers..."

Econ detail tab

  • Include footnote, "Workers" Number of workers..."
  • Include footnote, Subsector centrality: necessity of subsector to functioning of the rest of economy (0-100, least to most necessary)
  • Include footnote, Subsector GDP share: subsector's fraction of total GDP
  • Include footnote, Sector employees (avg 2019): Number of workers in sector across all occupations.

Household tab

  • Include footnotes about census measures

wording revision/edit

Now that we have all provinces, the preamble should read:
"...importance of the sector in the province's economy ("Economic factors detail"), and risks associated with factors outside of the work place for the province's workers ("Household detail").
