Guys, do you think you could mention the letter of support we have been asking them to sign for some time now? I could send an email to Alexis Rossi (once more) on Friday morning, and you could just tell them that we made a preliminary draft to make the process quicker for them? I believe it is the best way to speed things up...

Yes! Of course email her again. Did you call/email today/yesterday?

We want to send them with the letter itself. Let's print it out and make sure 1 of the 3 of them has in on them when they go.

Ok, that's the best idea, yup. I didn't call, because the letter wasn't ready yet.

Klara said today she will call on Thursday. If not response she will email afterwards.

I tried reaching her throughout the day, but only got voicemail, so I sent her an email right now. Please, talk to her tomorrow and ask if we can get the letter signed while you're there - I told her you were coming and that we would like to take care of that letter as well, if possible.

So, could one of you guys look for Alexis Rossi tomorrow and ask her if she had a chance to look at the letter we sent her yesterday?

Thanks!

You can also ask Brewster to show her to you.

Sure I can do that. But first I want to just to confirm I understand what is going on: I don't need to bring a letter, or know what is in the letter. All I need to do is to find Alexis Rossi and ask her if she has had a chance to look at the letter that Klara from peerlibrary sent her. Once I say those words to that person then I'm done as she will know what is going on.

Hi, I responded in the email to you guys with the exact steps what to do and a little more detailed explanation on what has been done so far. If you need anything else, just email or call me. Let's get this letter today! :)

@Klarster @sylvanarevalo you guys brought the letter itself to be signed, right?

@sylvanarevalo and @spencerhitch and @opalkale got a ride to the Internet Archive from my uncle John Kunze who works for California Digital Library. We left at 11:00 and got back around 3:00. We mingled a little during lunch and told a few people about Peerlibrary. Brewster gave us an amazing tour of the place.
I forced Alexis to open and read the email from Klara. She made changes to two facts in the letter so that they would reflect the current reality. I approved her changes and didn't think it required a call to @Klarster because none of the intention of the letter was changed. Then I forced her to print the letter and give it to me to bring to Brewster. Brewster read the letter and signed it right away. He said it was the first letter of this type which he could sign right away without any reservations.
Then we interview Brewster. We did two takes, and spencer used his phone to get an additional audio recording. Brewster said exactly what we wanted him to. He explained how PeerLibrary related to the Internet Archive, and he said we were doing good work and that everyone should support us. Then we left. @mitar: we did not talk about the Antonio Pizzigati Prize as none of us knew we were supposed to.
@spencerhitch was in charge of transporting the signed letter and the recording of Brewster.

Can you update the edits she made into our Google Doc so that we have the final version there?

And great job! This looks really cool! I am glad that you all went there!

Report:

Visited the Internet Archive headquarters in the Richmond district of San Francisco. Had brunch with the Internet Archive crew and visitors where everyone went around and introduced themselves/what they had been working on for the week, including the difficulties they faced due to the rainstorm. Then Brewster gave a brief overview of Internet Archive and the WayBack Machine and a tour of the headquarters, which was an old church. Finally, we were able to film an interview of Brewster endorsing PeerLibrary. Afterwards, we listened to @sylvanarevalo's uncle play the organ and then he kindly gave us a ride back to Berkeley.
