Freeconnect is a collection of connectors with open source design files and documentation. These connectors offer a solution for In-circuit connection, the connecion is made through pogo pins, meaning no mating connector is required on the target side, only that the small footprint is there.

freeconnect's Issues

thin walls

Currently the connectors come out fairly brittle/fragile, mainly due to thin side walls, also makes it harder to print.

I should try to thicken up the connector a bit, 0.5mm all the way around sounds reasonable.

solo alignment dowel conflicts with pcb cutout

Right now the hole for the solo alignment dowel protrudes through the PCB cutout, on assembly it's easy to push the dowel to far, also means it's not properly fixes, as it can be pushed.

I can move the cutout up slightly

P50-Q1 listing is broken

P50-Q1 pogo pins apply too much force

The P50-Q1 pogo pins I am using right now are stronger than expected, by themselves they feel great, but when assembled together the resulting force feels a bit too strong.

I should try to look for possible alternatives.
