A for-fun module to convert Tiếng Việt into the newly suggested IPA – more info in Vietnamese. A demo can be found here.

Install

$ npm install tieqviet

Usage

const tieqViet = require('tieqviet');

tieqViet('Tiếng Việt giàu và đẹp. Đùa đấy ahihi đồ ngốk.');

How about conversion from Tiếq Việt to Tiếng Việt?

I'm sure we should have a dictionary to convert like that... But it's really helpful!

Ký tự 'x'

Sai khi convert ký tự 'x'. Kết quả chuẩn phải là 's' chứ không phải là 'x' như hiện tại. Kết quả 'x' dành cho phụ âm 'kh'.

Reverse translate

“gi” as a syllable

The converter cannot tell whether “gi” is a consonant or syllable, and converts both to “z”. (as syllable, it should be “zi”)

Could you make a version 2, “Tiếw Việt”?

Apparently the Professor has proposed an update to his reform, not only changing some consonants (eg. ng is now w, th is now q), but also changing some vowels.
