fullscreentweaker's Introduction

Fullscreen Tweaker

Fullscreen Tweaker allow you to adjust game's window into "Borderless Fullscreen". Find the game that is currently running in the list, click "Fullscreenize" and thats it!

Some video games does not support Borderless Fullscreen and this tool can help rectify this.

Before you run the tool:

It is better that you set the game's resolution as the same of the monitor. That way, the visual of the game will remain clean.

About 4:3 games:

The 4:3 option will adjust the game window and make it appear at the center of the monitor. It is better that you create an custom 4:3 resolution that fit your display and then set this resolution into the game's display option before you run the tool.

Example: For an 1080p monitor, instead of running the game in 1920x1080, you should set the game resolution to 1440x1080.

Technologies

  • C#
  • .NET CORE 5

This looks familiar, doesn't it?

Fullscreen Tweaker is an updated version of another app named Fullscreenizer.

I wanted to mess around with the original source code of Fullscreenizer made by Kostas "Bad Sector" Michalopoulos. However, when I realised that the source code was in Pascal, I decided to recode everything in C#.

fullscreentweaker's Issues

4:3 Support

4:3 Support

Some older games does not run well in fullscreen, so playing windowed can always help. However, when the game was designed to be 4:3 at first, Fullscreenizing the window will make the game stretched.

There is Widescreen Mods existing for various titles, but sometimes theses mods can cause unwanted weird visual behavior in the game. Because of that, I have started to prioritise creating custom resolutions instead of using Widescreen Mods to play some of my older game.

As an example, instead of running a 4:3 game in 1920x1080, I will run it at 1440x1080. 1440x1080 is the 4:3 resolution for an 1080p monitor. By default it does not exist, but you can always add your own resolution in the display settings of windows to make this custom resolution available in the option of your games.

With all that being said, I will start working on a 4:3 non stretched feature on the tool.

Personal Note of why I want to add this option:

I had some trouble running Hitman Contracts in fullscreen, the FPS was so high that the game was broken. Since I don't want to use a Widescreen mod, playing windowed is the only way I have found to limit the FPS. However, now the game is stretched when I run the tool.
