google-tasks-desktop's Issues

White screen

Hi, I am trying to use the app, but after dragging the JSON file it only shows a white screen

API access guide outdated/incomplete/broken?

Hi, I got a feeling that the setup procedure (for API access) described in README is either outdated or not suitable for freshly set google accounts. Could you please confirm this is not the case as I simply stuck seeing not steps to execute as you described.

Main window is not resizeable

I am using kubuntu (20), installed app from *.deb and the main window is not resizeable at all (neither can be made smaller nor bigger).

How i can change google secret Json file ?

I have drag Json file, Then come to screen get Code, but I had drag a negative file, so i can't get code to comfirm. Now, when open app, it will auto show screen get code

Stumbled across this project

Hi, I found this project by chance when searching "google tasks" on github. Great work!

I don't know if you're building this for yourself to use, but just want to mention that there's a chrome extension called "full screen for google tasks". Not sure if it fits your personal needs, if yes then it may help. (But probably not, because you didn't try to make your app wider than the gmail sidebar, so I guess the sidebar being too narrow wasn't the problem you wanted to fix)

AppImage - JavaScript issue.

Offline Mode

A very useful feature that could set this desktop client apart from any other implementation of Google Tasks Desktop could be the implementation of an offline mode. Being able to create, edit, and delete tasks offline and have them sync when a network connection is available is a very useful feature that could be considered for the roadmap of this project.

Unable to get code for app activation

I have followed all instructions but I'm unable to get the code from the app auth process. I still get this message:

Error 403: access_denied
The developer hasn’t given you access to this app. It’s currently being tested and it hasn’t been verified by Google. If you think you should have access, contact the developer

Can't change list from edit menu

I'm on build 1.3.2 on Windows 10 x64, and I can't change list for an already created task from it's edit screen. When I click on the list drop down, nothing happens at all.

All tasks not syncing to desktop client

Only 11 tasks (out of 24 tasks that I have on Google Tasks) show up on the desktop client. The number of completed tasks is also not synced correctly; the desktop client shows 9 completed tasks whereas I have 211 completed tasks.

Filename spelling

Is it google-tasks-desktop or google-task-desktop? It should be the former, please be consistent.

Dont pass the "loading" step

Hello,
If this were really able to work well I will be really happy, but on my 3 computers on archlinux, ubuntu, red hat enterprise, none of these passed the step : "loading" tasks, just after I complete google console setup and enter the code allowing the app to access the tasks, the blue bar load until the end, except for the two or three last pixel.

computers :
Laptop : i7-8550U - GTX 1050 max-Q - SSD NVME (but don't know which and ... tired to search now)
Server : XEON X5677 - SATA HDD 2To (same ... trired, sorry anyway the problem cant come from here) - no CG (via ssh on the 2 other computers)
Desktop : I5-10600 - RTX 2080 ti - multiple hardrives ubuntu is on 100GB SATA HDD

what I tried :
-> install from appimage but ubuntu says : "failed to register appimage in system via libappimage", I have many appimages that works well, like balena-etcher, unofficial discord so I think the problem comes from your one ...
--> open the appimage and choose "run once" from official AppImageLauncher window, installed from official source, that works but ... I'm not interested in, and same loading problem so ...
-> so install from deb -> nothing
--> run with --no-sandbox but not sure if this change a lot -> nothing
-> tweak google console to change things ... in a near to randomly method (i should say that i followed the installation process)

results :
-> nothing ... no errors reporting in commandline but the app keeps loading for hours

also maybe you can update your .desktop file to show a correct icon ... i wonder "./public/icon/icon.png" should be replaced by "/usr/share/icon/hicolor/512x512/apps/google-tasks-desktop.png"

Thanks (and sorry my english is ... sometimes not as good as I want, I'm french)

Update to Scroll Bar UI

The scroll bar looks antiquated and out of place with the general theming of the desktop app. A custom scroll bar that is more inlay with the desktop client would greatly improve the aesthetics of the app.

Icon for the appimage not being dislayed in taskbar

Hi!
First of all, thanks for the app!

Second, the .desktop file created by appimage integration has the wrong WMC Class, due to which the icon of the app isn't displayed at all in the taskbar/dock.
appimage source : https://www.linux-apps.com/p/1308711/
It is : StartupWMClass=Google Tasks
and should be : StartupWMClass=google-task-desktop instead.

The issue is minor one and can be fixed easily. :)

Change order of lists

I found about tasklist_order.json but can't seem to get it to work or if it has any effect.

Win Setup Release

Mainly just wanted to say how much I appreciate this client! With google killing every other official/non-official way of accessing tasks without going to gmail or calendar, this is much appreciated! Thank you.

Small issue though: the link for the Setup exe is not complete. I was able to access it by editing the url for the non-setup release.
