reddid, the Reddit Image Downloader
It would be useful as far as using the images for specific purposes if there were flags to filter the downloads by certain file- or exif properties. For example:
All i.redditmedia links appear to "Download Successfully" for me however catting them, all their contents are the ascii text URI signature match failed
This reddit post from last year matches and describes the problem as & appearing in the URLs fetched rather than just '&'. This started happening to me on the 18th of Feburary 2018.
Suggestion: specify optional flag to skip downloads of existing files:
--skipExistingFiles
if a file with a similar name exists, then skip the download.
This is useful if you want to set up something that periodically scans for images and only downloads stuff that is not already downloaded.
im a noob, but i installed correctly and it says no image is available or unerecognised image url for all the image after giving the command
michael@michael-laptop:~/Downloads/reddit$ reddid pics hot 5
/usr/bin/env: ‘node --harmony’: No such file or directory
I did create a symlink to /usr/bin/nodejs from a place in my path. So this works:
$ node
.exit
$
Any ideas?
Allow the user to type reddid pics hot 5
instead of node --harmony index.js pics hot 5
It seems there is a hard coded upper limit of 100 for the number of images to download.
Is there any reason for this limit? If not then it would be nice to either remove that limit or bump it up much higher, to 1000 or more.
