The PR contains fixes to the CPU argument for macOS guests. If the issue is not fixed with those changes, please provide the output of quickemu, which now will print out errors in the case that the VM fails to launch.

@blakemcbride did you run the chmod 777 /home/blake/Public
from the quickemu output?
from quickemu.
8db3100 there is an issue with a missing varible in the latest build it may be why your having this issue
from quickemu.
I installed via apt and I checked the /usr/bin/quickget
and it uses the qemu-img
instead of variable
from quickemu.
try using version 4.9.4
from quickemu.
4.9.4 gives me the following error when I execute quickemu --vm macos-ventura.conf
cat: macos-ventura/macos-ventura.pid: No such file or directory
from quickemu.
Setting chmod 777 /home/blake/Public
made no difference.
from quickemu.
Running Ubuntu-24.04 works fine.
from quickemu.
Please can you try launching the VM with --display spice
and also with --display gtk
in the quickemu
arguments and let me know if either of those work.
from quickemu.
Running with spice
showed the window but it couldn't connect. And still the pid
file was unaccesible
from quickemu.
I can run ubuntu guest just fine so I do not think the display logic is the problem.
from quickemu.
I think this is a side affect of: #1229
from quickemu.
4.9.4 gives me the following error when I execute
quickemu --vm macos-ventura.conf
cat: macos-ventura/macos-ventura.pid: No such file or directory
This error means that QEMU entirely failed to launch. Since your quickemu version does not include commit 5edc931, the logs won't automatically be printed. Please paste the contents of the .log file in your VM directory here.
from quickemu.
Is there any fix for this?
from quickemu.
I have the same problem trying install macos catalina.
