What are the parameters of this ROM base resource?

What do you intend to be the out-of-the-box experience for this resource?

  1. Impossible to distinguish from vanilla without digging into developer tools like bgb's VRAM viewer?
  2. Indistinguishable from vanilla to a casual observer, but not an attentive one? (Example: suppose you removed the Magikarp-measurement mechanic in order to minimise the number of dangling references to vanilla maps; the house at the Lake of Rage would be missing, but this isn't a major change.)
  3. Playable, but obviously distinct from vanilla? (Example: the repo compiles, but the game puts the player in a small map with no exits.)
  4. Unplayable out of the box? (Example: the repo as given does not compile; the user has to provide a map and set it up as the spawn point for the player.)

Which tutorials will be pre-applied? I assume these three are a shoe-in...

  • "Expand tilesets from 192 to 255 tiles"
  • "Allow tiles to have different attributes in different blocks (including X and Y flip)"
  • "Improve the outdoor sprite system"

...but what about the rest of the upgrade tutorials in pokecrystal's wiki?


Do you intend to remove the mobile code, restore it to working order, make it do something else or leave it as it is?
