Links should be ignored by the bot, as they have no words whatsoever in common with normal messages and consequently produce boring results when mixed into training data.

Emotes should be ignored by the bot, as they tend to have different punctuation and sentence structure than normal messages, and consequently produce odd results when mixed into training data.

Discord has changed some of the details of the way their bot creation page works, leaving the readme's "Running the Bot" section out of sync with what is actually displayed to the user. That section should be updated.

At the moment, the bot has to wait for people to say things after it launches to train itself. It would be nice if it could skip this delay, by reading old chat logs and training on those.

At the moment, responses are hardcoded to trigger on the string "Derpy". Instead, they should trigger on whatever the bot's displayed user name is.

When a new person joins the server, it would be nice if the bot would automatically greet them.

The bot's name is unusual enough that it rarely appears by accident, and it turns out that this limits the bot's overall effectiveness. When it isn't talking, people mostly just ignore it. It would be much more compelling if it occasionally said something unprompted.

When someone leaves the server, it would be nice if the bot automatically said goodbye to them.
