Fork of Laurens Holst's 2010 "GAIA-Tool" for Roland SH-01 GAIA synthesizer for modern environments.

I'm rarecoil.

Most of the work here is from when I was working in appsec as a penetration tester. I'm mostly inactive as of 2022. If you want to make changes or issue pull requests, it is likely that there will be significant lag in me reviewing it, if at all. I would recommend forking things you want to use/modify; most everything here is under a permissive license.

Update August 2023: I plan on cleaning up / archiving old and unmaintained stuff here shortly and beginning to use this account more again.

gaia-tool's Issues

JARs built will not run with Homebrew OpenJDK on macOS Sonoma

JARs built with mvn verify in the traditional way do not execute when using Homebrew OpenJDK. An attempt to load CMenuItem will crash the application.

This is a known issue in other applications such as visualvm - oracle/visualvm#528 and that group believes it's a Homebrew JDK problem.

Application Specific Information:
References to Carbon menus are disallowed with AppKit menu system (see rdar://101002625). Use instances of NSMenu and NSMenuItem directly instead.

Current Maven build does not build Windows or macOS executables

Plugins for launch4j, macOS builds are no longer supported by modern versions of Maven, and thus have been commented out in pom.xml.

Resolving this issue should build both macOS .app stubs as well as Windows executables (unsigned).
