Renders static content efficiently by allowing React to short-circuit the reconciliation process. This component should be used when you know that a subtree of components will never need to be updated.

Typically, you will not need to use this component and should opt for normal React reconciliation.

Installation

npm install react-static-container

Usage

var StaticContainer = require('react-static-container');

var someValue = ...; // We know for certain this value will never change.

class MyComponent extends React.Component {
  render() {
    return (
      <div>
        {this.props.value}
        <StaticContainer>
          <MyOtherComponent value={someValue} />
        </StaticContainer>
      <div>
    );
  }
 );

StaticContainer also takes a shouldUpdate prop as an escape hatch, allowing granular updates.

react-static-container's Issues

Allow peer dependency of React v15

This is a dependency of react-relay v0.7.3. There is an outstanding issue (with a matching PR) for allowing facebook/react-relay to allow for React v15 as a peer dependency. This will need to be updated too.

React 16.0.0 compatibility

Any chance of allowing peerDependencies for react version ^16.0.0-alpha.12? Reason for that is that react-native is having this dependency from version 0.43.0, which has very desirable features.

Should export a name or displayName

when debugging, there's always an Unknow element. Adding a display name should be better.
