The Android + FCM Push Notifications sample app

This sample app uses the Realtime® Framework Pub/Sub Android library to connect, send and receive messages through a Realtime® Server in the cloud. Through the integrated use of Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) messages are delivered to users as push notifications when the app is not running.

NOTE: For simplicity these samples assume you're using a Realtime® Framework developers' application key with the authentication service disabled (every connection will have permission to publish and subscribe to any channel). For security guidelines please refer to the Security Guide.

Don't forget to replace YOUR_APPLICATION_KEY with your Realtime application key and YOUR_FIREBASE_SENDER_ID with your Firebase Sender ID in the Config.java file. If you don't already have a free Realtime® Framework application key, get one now.

Prerequisites

• Download Android Studio.

• Under Tools / Android / Android SDK Manager make sure "Extras/Google Repository","Extras/Google Play services","Extras/Android Support Repository" and "Extras/Android Support Library", are installed.

Error when run on android jelly bean 4.1.2

When i run the the app it show force close dialog :'( please fix it

OrtcHandler.selfHandler.isConnected returns null always

Hi , when i launch my app i get this error in my logcat
Exceptionibt.ortc.plugins.IbtRealtimeSJ.OrtcServerErrorException: Error getting application profile.

And also, my app crash on OrtcHandler.selfHandler.isConnected as it always return as null.
please help.

GCMReceiver not calling up

Hi, I am able to get messages back from server but without notification. Gcm receiver is never called up.

Sometimes when the app is in background the push notifications are not displayed in the Notification Manager

Probably something wrong with this code and the underlying state:

Error: Channel has invalid characters

Can you tell me what type of characters should I enter.?
