Now that we are in swift 5 [perhaps soon to be 6] the code needs to be updated to work with all the new API calls, as well as changes to Xcode.

Thoughts

Given that this was my first work I completely organized, everything went really well.

Aside from that, it was pure chaos.

What happened

• workshop structure was not well defined
  • hard to make it like a class because some students will encounter issues which slow down the pace
  • hard to work one-on-one because only a 2 instructors
• There were a lot of questions I did not have the answers to on hand
• Some people were unaware they needed a mac with Xcode installed
• Material was definitely too advanced to be called an introductory workshop

Future plans

I should break-up the workshop into 3-5 parts + one before for setting up macOS VMs on windows / linux.

Organize workshops into more interactive and less instructional.

• Use Swift Playgrounds and have them code alongside, [more engaging]

I wrote down questions I was asked, and I will ensure I can answer these next time

• I should anticipate questions, and prepare answers beforehand
