helios's Issues

Support explicit softCommits

Not really sure how this can fit into the current usage...

Since I need to start doing this immediately, the only solution I'm seeing right now (short of many code changes) is to fork the module and change the commit=true flags to softCommit=true. Would love this feature considered in the future though.

Documentation question.

Hi,

I saw this in the documentation:
var solrdoc = new helios.document();
solrdoc.addField('field_name1', 'value1');
solrdoc.addField('field_name2', 'value2');

solr_client.addDoc(solrdoc, true, function(err) {
if (err) console.log(err);
});

I think that should use setField instead of addField right? Let me know,

Thanks,

Harry

nlogger is required but only listed as a devDependency

The require()s in lib/client.js, queryBuilder, and so on make nlogger a requirement to use helios at all, not just a dev dependency.

Maybe you should find a way to make nlogger optional, or, move it up to the regular dependencies so it gets installed on a normal "npm install helios"

issues adding null values to document

When I try to update a document with one of its field as null, I get the following error stack trace:

TypeError: Cannot read property 'replace' of null
    at Object.escapeXML (C:\project\node_modules\helios\lib\utils.js:14:15)
    at solrDoc.toXML (C:\project\node_modules\helios\lib\document.js:179:23)
    at solrClient.addDoc (C:\project\node_modules\helios\lib\client.js:127:36)

It seems to be an issue because the escapeXML gets called on null values as well.

Can we skip this escaping step for null values or make the escapeXML function to handle null values differently?

npm package name

Hi! Sorry if this is unrelated, but is it possible for you to donate the package helios on npm to me? I'm working on an app dealing with Greek mythology -- it would be nice to get a name related to Helios, son of the Olympian Apollo.

Thanks!
