About 20% of the flac files I own do not play and give me this error when 
played back in andLess. I have experienced this on Android 2.1 and Android 2.2 
on my Nexus One. I have attached a .flac file so that you can see this error.

I built the source code on my Ubuntu 9.10 using android-ndk-r5b and Android 
2.3.1 SDK. It runs on my Nexus S (2.3.2).

andLess is really good, thx, but I miss support for my Bluetooth-Headset. It 
can handle both important protocols: AVRCP and A2DP. It works with other 
players e.g. nemoPlayer or the buildin one.

Hope we can handle this - I'll test it and do some coding, if there's time

I think it may be usefull have the possibility to 
choise if you want to replay the whole directory at the end of the last 
file with a simple button, or repeat only the current file.

Trying to open this particular, attached CUE file. It results with "Cue file 
not recognized / suported" mesage. Plays perfectly OK on different players 
(e.g. foobar).

Mp3 plays just fine, haven't test any other file format yet.

If i play a cue file with rather many titles in it (more than 20), the progress 
bar of andless will not work. it just stays on zero and will not move all the 
time.

If you want to play an cue file with rather many titles in it (more than 20), 
andless will not display them all. the last titles won't be displayed and can't 
be chosen to be played.

SqueezeControl allows us to download music direct from SqueezeServer straight 
to the device. Unfortunately at this time it (incorrectly) saves the files as 
.flc not .flac.

As Andless is more actively maintained I suspect it will be the first and 
thus best option to address the current issue.

I think, that andLess will be more powerfull, if it provide plugin
infrastructure.
It can be plugins like this:

1) File/stream format plugins
(Matroska and others)

2) Network plugins for sending/getting some text/image info from internet
(like last.fm, amazon covers, discogs information, lirycs, wiki)

3) Plugins like musicbrainz, which need work with file audiofingerprint and
sending/getting in internet

4) Crossfade, statistical plugins for using music library and sending for
online services (last.fm dinamic playlists)

This plugins can be shared library (libbla-bla.so)
and main plugin library (libplugin.so), which can handle plugin libs

Main app can use libplugin.so over JNI

We need proposed API table for it (it can be based on information, what
kind of plugins we need). Main types of audioplayers plugins you can see in
this message.

Using Android 2.1 (HTC Desire)

I am a big fan of scrobbling and last.fm and frequently submit my tracks to 
their site.

Can you support that in andLess?  For other players all I had to install was 
the additional "Scrobble Droid" application to get this working.

I've reproduced the issue a few times now. It appears to only occur if the 
screen remains locked for a certain (very short) amount of time. Also, this 
problem is only universally reproducible if I allow the screen to lock 
automatically; when I manually lock the screen, it's only occurred once out of 
multiple trials (as opposed to every time it locked automatically).

The file plays, but there is a stutter if you do anything on the phone.  I
use Rockbox on my Cowon D2+ and the flac file I'm using doesn't do that. 
Unlocking the phone causes stuttering.  It's just annoying more than
anything. It doesn't matter if it's plugged in or not.

Could this have anything with the priority set on the program itself?  I
mean, I could understand the stuttering if it didn't have the resources. 
But flac shouldn't take that much more processor power. I've converted this
flac to a 500kb ogg file, and it doesn't skip.

Add an option as automatically restore the most recent bookmark.
It stores the most recent bookmark file in android Preference.
After starting the program, it will recover the bookmard and set the
playing status to PAUSE, and user can press play button to play it.

The current "now playing" screen, if you can call it that, is clean and good. I 
just think it needs a little something extra...

I would greatly appreciate some sort of "now playing" screen displaying either 
"folder.jpg" or cover art in the case of apple lossless (or any other format 
which has this embedded in it). I play a lot of apple lossless files (I have a 
32GB microSD) and, since I migrated from an iPod touch- my files are very well 
sorted and cover art is present in all my files.

The license field here on Google Code states that this project is licensed 
under the Lesser GPL; but the the parts included from Rockbox are licensed 
under the regular GPL (version 2 or later), which requires all derivative works 
to be under the same license.

To quote from the license itself:

  "2 b) You must cause any work that you distribute or publish,
  that in whole or in part contains or is derived from the Program
  or any part thereof, to be licensed as a whole at no charge to
  all third parties under the terms of this License."

I suggest:

1) Selecting "GNU General Public License v2" here on Google Code as the license 
for the project.

2) Explicity specifying the license for all source files (e.g. 
src/net/avs234/*.java) by putting a comment with a license notice at the top. 
Individual files can use any license (BSD, MIT, Apache2, LGPL, etc.) as long as 
it's GPL compatible.

Just like lossless formats, Replay Gain is something commonly used by audio 
enthusiasts that Android doesn't support by default.

Also this is an enhancement, not a defect. (I haven't a clue how to change the 
category, if that's even possible).

Cuesheets are highly supported by ElectronicDanceMusic listeners because large 
livesets contain many many tracks... Cuesheet support isn't supported by many 
music players on the Android platform. Because your app has Cuesheet support 
please add some minor enhancements to get full use of this great feature.

1) Gapless playback
2) Replaygain

4) Crossfeed (feed, not fade)

6) Volume limit (cut or gain overall volume)
