GL_EXT_compiled_vertex_array not supported by Vivante GPU

First, I really appreciate that there is a GLES port of etracer! It's great to see someone caring about arm.
Now, I got an i.MX6 SoC with a vivante gc2000 gpu. Apparently it does not have the GL_EXT_compiled_vertex_array extension. Is there a chance you might be able to remove this requirement or replace it by something else?

Doesn't work on Raspberry Pi

I have successfully built the game using "make GLES=1" on a Raspberry Pi, but when I run the executable, I only get a black screen and a mouse cursor.
