After adding Backbone.Courier functionality to a View, what should I do if I want to remove Backbone.Courier functionality from a View?

I've been trying to get this to run with Backbone.layoutmanager. I'm using the afterRender function on LM to call the courier:

afterRender: function (oView) {
Backbone.Courier.add(oView); // add Backbone.Courier to the layout
}

This seems to add BB.C, but when I try to use the spawn in a function (this.spawn("moreOptionsBtnToggle");), the parent view doesn't react.

}
}

Any ideas?
