subversion prompts the gnome-keyring dialog when you run the script (maybe even for every repository). This is annoying, if you don't like to save the password in the gnome keyring.

The line on the bottom right corner after "Repository:" stays empty.
Problem with parameter or script?

An '-verbose' option that makes the used tools more 'chatty'

Some distributions, in my test case Arch Linux, use (still?) ffmpeg instead of avconv. So the script breaks because of the buildin test, if avconv is installed.

Save the generated video files to /tmp instead of $DATADIR

• the finished video files are copied to $COPYDIR (so they aren't gone if /tmp got cleaned up)
• save only meta data in the $DATADIR (so it's very easy to commit it to a revision control system like svn or git because the meta data consists of only three small text files)
• the benefit is, that you can generate videos on different machines (for the same $COPYDIR) and gourcally recognizes if there is already a current version of the video on $COPYDIR
