reddit-client's Issues

View Subreddit Banners

Every subreddit has a banner. As a redditor, I should be able to view each subreddit's unique banner. This gives be a more personalized view on the subreddit I'm reading.

Preview Videos

As a redditor, I should be able to watch shared videos, just as I can preview images currently. This allows better user experience because I don't have to do a context switch to a different website.

For the time being, only YoutTube links should be supported.

View GIFs in the image preivew

As a redditor, I should be able to click on an image preview toggle button and view an animated gif. This helps me avoid navigating to another website for entertainment.

Reorganize Front Page

The front page is not a subreddit. Moving forward, I think that detail should be reflected in the code because it may simplify development.

Details:

  • All the threads on the front page, do not belong to the front page, rather they belong to subreddits.
  • The front page doesn't have a sidebar or banner.

View Sidebar on Subreddits

As a redditor, I should be able to view a sidebar on each subreddit. This lets me read the rules of that subreddit and be better informed about the content I'm reading.

Viewable items: rules, subscriber count, moderators, description, etc.

Sort thread comments

As a reddit, I should be able to sort comment by: karma, controversiality, and date created. This lets me read the content I'm interested in.

Preview body of self posts

As a redditor, I should be able to view the body of self posts so that I may quickly scan them to see if they're worth reading.

See a thread's subreddit on front-page

As a redditor, I should be able to see which subreddit a thread belongs to. This lets me understand the context of each thread and better interpret what it's about before I click on it.
