BeFake is currently broken

Features

1. See friends' posts without posting anything yourself

   BeFake allows you to see your friends' posts without posting anything yourself. You can also screenshot their posts without them getting notified. You can also see the location (if available), date and time, retakes, comments, and realmoji reactions on all posts. You can even write your own comments straight from BeFake. Support for realmoji reactions is coming soon.

   

2. Upload your own posts and realmoji reactions!

   You can also upload your own posts with photos from your camera roll, which will be visible to your friends. GIFs are also supported, meaning your BeReal can be a GIF! The BeFake client also supports custom location with longitude and latitude.

   

3. Interactive Map See where your friends are posting from on an interactive map.The map is interactive, so you can zoom in and out, and move around. You can also click on a marker to see the details of the post in a popup on the map! Once logged in see https://befake.ong/map to see the map. Note: The map is does not work well on mobile devices.

Invalid app credentials

Gives me this error when trying to send the code

Uploading reaction broke if size is big?

If i upload a reaction and the size it's "high" (don't know how much, probably more than 0,5 MB) it will upload a broken image, and in the app it will show a gray image

If I try to connect more than one time, it'll display the error "Error! Error: QUOTA_EXCEEDED : Exceeded quota."

I tried once on Android then on my PC. I have a french number. It's just not working.

I tried logging in on phone and PC, i get the same error "Error! Error: QUOTA_EXCEEDED : Exceeded quota."

I am using an italian phone number. I am using latest Firefox on PC and chrome on phone

Post feature and Reaction Upload not working, wish to see this working again you have the best dashboard so far!

Not able to login

I previously logged in with incognito mode. The session is now gone.

When I enter my phone number again to login, I receive the error: Exceeded quota.

Post feature not working

I have not been able to submit my posts for some time now. It just shows the three dots for a second or two then stops. I think it is not letting me post reactions either. I even converted the pictures to webp just in case, no dice.

Is it possible to view someone's post without being friends with them?

I inspected the network requests and their responses and I found that post images have this url form: /Photos/[userId]/post/[imageId].webp

Is it possible to guess the imageId somehow?

Login got changed

Bereals login got changed and now they use recaptcha to verify that you are not a robot

Gif doesn't work

I was testing the GIF feature, so i download a low size gif

On befake I see it as a gif (so it's moving) while on bereal is stationary

I also tested the "retake" feature and tried 999 to see if there is a limit, it says retake 0, so i probably exceeded the limit

Is it just me or is anyone else having problems uploading again?

Shows the error code 'inavlid app credential' and doesn't send the otp text.

Hey, just looking this project and, I really like it, if I have time, I may even work on a PR (have a lot more APIs on their backend which I believe I can implement or at least help ^^). I didn't look too much in the source code but are you aware of any file type/size restrictions for reactions?

• OS: Android
• Browser: Chrome (outdated though I know... Maybe around 1yr) with admittedly old version of WebView
• file type tried:
  • jpg (works)
  • not working: Apng, png, gif, mp4

However it is worth mentioning that my jpg file was my only file < 200Kb

Anyway, just wondering if there is a client/backend side restrictions on file type/size, or if it is a bug?

APP_NOT_VERIFIED on login

When trying to log in, befake shows Error: APP_NOT_VERIFIED
SMS with confirmation Code will be sent but webpage does not advance

Sorta similar to #24 but this would be a map with the pins of all the locations friend posts were if the post has a location

Search for Profiles

view whatever user profile you search up, not necessarily a friend. For instance if I wanted to search up “@djsjdjdjd” and have the profile picture pop up and any other information come up.

Friend Graph

Create a interactive zoomable pannable graph exactly like the one shown in https://shomil.me/bereal/ under the friend suggestion tag. This would be in it's own page on a route like /graph
