I also tried a couple of street addresses in San Luis Obispo.

I was expecting state-level legislator info but didn't see anything about state senate/assembly reps there.

The Google Civic API doesn't return city-level officials for anything but the biggest cities (SF, Oakland). SFYIMBY apparently subscribes to another API that might have that information. Look into that and see if we could use that here.

Pretty much what we built, without the grades / custom notes. But the UI/UX are better executed :). Probably worth shamelessly copying some of the better parts

• Updating convert_csv_to_json.py to pull the data directly from Google Sheets
• Adding scripts per https://github.com/github/scripts-to-rule-them-all
  • Install script should take care of python deps
  • Update script should run the script to generate the latest JSON and run the build step
  • Server script to start the jekyll server locally
• Add a build step to
  • Pre-compile the Handlebars template
  • Version the JSON file so it can be cached and still update
  • Minify the JS
  • Hopefully enable writing ES6 JS
• (Probably) include the JSON file directly, instead of fetching it via AJAX
• Update README
• Cross-browser testing
• Evaluate the project's name
