This roles installs Postgresql server.

Installation and Dependencies

To install this role run ansible-galaxy install sansible.postgresql or add this to your roles.yml.

- src: sansible.postgresql
  version: v2.0

and run ansible-galaxy install -p ./roles -r roles.yml

Tags

This role uses two tags: build and configure

• build - Installs Postgresql server.
• configure - Configures and ensures that the service is running.

Examples

To simply install Postgresql server:

To simply install Postgresql and allow all connections.

postgresql's Issues

Create additional admin user

As a Ops
I want to specify root username and password
So that I can use it remotely

Add option to disable postgresql service from starting.

As a Ops
I want to choose if postgresql service should be running after including this role
So that I don't have to hack it when building using "chroot"

Configuration cleanup

As a Infra Dev
I want to specify custom options for postgresql.conf
So that I can easily add new options to that file.

Ensure APT cache is updated

When adding an APT repo, make sure update_cache: yes is set so subsequent immediate install works ;)

Update Ansible and make Role Python 3 Compatible
