Why do the statment: IF (NCOL.GT.0) of line 1252 has been used again inside IF block, line 1255? I feel there is no need!

About arrays CD(MNC) and CCD(MNC)

Both of arrays CD(MNC) and CCD(MNC) of program DSMC1U.FOR declared and written in the file DSMC1U.DAT but havn't been used in any executable statment through the code and there is no any note or comment about their need! are there any one can explain the logical need for them?

about dsmc0s.for

i'm a doctor student and i'm working on a model involves a flow of laser-induced plasma and need to understand the so called direct simulation monte-carlo (dsmc).
i think that fairly i have both knowledge of physics around this and programming skills but i 've encountered some issues and it is that:

now, can one explain for me why the restart file 've been put inside the loop to be updated? and why the unit identifier number of this file is the same as that for the output file?

The array CS(1,N) of program DSMC.FOR

Hello every one.
I'm confused about some matter.
Consider for example the array CS(1,N) of program DSMC.FOR line 303 this array used to make a summation and most be initiated by zero but this hasn't done instead it has been initiated by very small number 1.E-6 as CS(1,N,L)=1.E-6. So my question is why?

About some comment

Hello every one around here!
Please, refer to the statement "IF (IFX.GT.0) A=0.5*A" at line 498 of program DSMC1U.FOR and particularly its comment "For cylindrical and spherical flows, molecules are generated in pairs such that there is zero initial momentum in the axial direction" at line 499 & 500. Actually, I'm not able to understand the justification on above comment from the physical point of view! Hope if there is any one can help me? Not that is not programming matter, it is about physics.
