stockBot

A super simple discord bot for paper trading stocks with yfinance.

Dependencies

python version 3.8 or newer

git or some other way of downloading the source code

a dicord bot made at https://discord.com/developers/applications and access to the bot token

Steps To Install

This has only been tested on ubuntu and raspberry pi OS, though it should work for all debian based distributions of linux.

  1. clone the source code
git clone https://github.com/Scott-McKool/stockBot.git
  1. run the install script
cd stockBot/
./install.sh

the install script will prompt you for your bot's discord token. get this token from the discord dev portal at https://discord.com/developers/applications
