Code updating and symbolic links about screeps

I symlink the folder that my compiled scripts are in and it works fine, but it doesn't seem to work with symlinked files.

That is what I did as well, just had to change my compile to build into a dist directory so screeps wasnt watching the entire source tree.

But it seems fairly trivial to follow links, so I thought I would look around and file an issue.

In the end the Steam client is just an Electron app, so I'm sure it wouldn't be difficult to find the relevant code if necessary.

I already looked. Technically it is nwjs, and there is a process to bundle it up so that your code is obfuscated, which they probably did: http://docs.nwjs.io/en/latest/For%20Users/Advanced/Protect%20JavaScript%20Source%20Code/

I am at work right now, so cant dig around more, but I can check tonight if it looks like that process was followed. Either way, if it's not open source I would rather not hack at the core files :)
