I noticed earlier that the seL4 docker wasn't able to build the manual because of missing doxygen dependencies. I believe that this is something that should be supported.

You mean, should be supported in the main seL4 docker container? Yes, good idea. Will add the deps there.

Hm, that's going to add a good 2GB to the container:

Do we really want that in the default base container?

(doxygen is cheap, the latex install is what draws in the rest of the world)

I'm not sure if convenience is worth it. It there a way to strip the 2GB down?

lsf37 avatar lsf37 commented on July 18, 2024

Not without major package hackery. I'm sure x11-xserver-utils is not really needed for the manual, but there seem to be no finer-grained package sets I can pick. I could only try to install deb files directly.

I'd say put it in for now, the longer I think about this, the more I'd say the benefits win. It provides the grounds to build documentation now also as part of the build process.

lsf37 avatar lsf37 commented on July 18, 2024

It is part of the l4v container already. So yes, I'm also starting to think it's better to just include it. It's not like these containers are small anyway.

Ok, will make a PR there.

There is now a -tex variant for the seL4 docker containers that has the dependencies to build the docs.
