Hi,
thanks for your star rating component. I've tried several, but your version is better from perfomance point of view (I have a couple hundred on one page).
But I have a couple suggestions:

1. make possibility to set rating outside component. For example:
   $('rating').setrating(3);
2. receive and show hints for each star.
3. create a 0-value star, that intiate state
   (like it's implemented in jQuery star rating
   http://www.fyneworks.com/jquery/star-rating/#tab-Overview)

Star rating works in Firefox and IE, but on my Opera 11 stars aren't displayed at all.

How to fix that?

BTW. protoplus is really great, thanks!
